Educational Investment Fund

The Educational Investment Fund (EIF) is a real-dollar, student-managed investment portfolio with a value of approximately $400,000. Undergraduates in the senior year and MBA students are selected as the student managers on the basis of merit. The portfolio is overseen by a Board of Directors, all of whom are industry professionals.

Students receive academic credit for their active participation in the EIF program, and meet regularly with the EIF Board of Directors for advice, reporting, and mentoring. The full board meets with the students on campus twice each semester, with the final meeting including formal presentations by the students to the board. The board members work individually with students in a mentoring relationship throughout the semester.

A portion of the returns on the fund is used for scholarships, awards, and program support, with the remainder reinvested. The home of the EIF is the Financial Markets Lab in the State Farm® Hall of Business, which is equipped with state-of-the-art financial analytical tools, databases, and technology.
