Alumni

Our alumni are our best ambassadors. They tell the world about the quality international education they received at Illinois State University and how their International Business major prepared them for their careers.

In 2016 we held our first International Business Reunion to celebrate 35 years since the first official International Business major graduated.  That year we also celebrated that over 1000 International Business majors have graduated from the College of Business at Illinois State University.  We used this occasion to thank Iris and Carson Varner for their vision in founding this degree.  We hope to hold more Reunions in the future (watch for a save the date message about 2021!), but we encourage all of our alumni to come visit us on campus and get to know our current students.

In looking over what we know about our alumni, we’ve realized the diversity of career and life paths they have taken.  Many live in Illinois, but others have moved to different states, and yet others have spent most of their work lives abroad.  The number of different companies and industries they are involved in is mind boggling! 

We love to hear from our alumni and find out where their path has gone. We hope that this website will facilitate our communication and keep alumni informed of all the new developments at their alma mater, particularly in the International Business major and the Varner International Business Institute.  Please contact us to share your story, open your workplace to our students, or just keep in touch!
