Internships
During the fall, spring, or summer semesters, BUA majors may participate in the departmental internship program. The benefits of student participation in the internship program include the on-the-job practical experience and increased marketability when seeking full-time employment upon graduation. Additionally, many internship opportunities are paid with approximately 25 percent of interns receiving job offers, contingent upon graduation, from their internship employers.
As interns, students earn academic credit while working in private, public, and/or nonprofit organizations on a variety of job duties, responsibilities, assignments, and projects. A senior-level internship (MQM 398) substitutes for one of the two major elective courses that students in the sequence are required to take to graduate with a degree in the major.
