Networking, Internship and Job Fair for Marketing


This Fall, the Illinois State University Department of Marketing is proud to host TWO Meet the Firms career fairs.  An In-person, on-campus fair on Thursday, September 15, 2022, and a Virtual fair on Friday, October 15th both from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The virtual event will still provide the formality of a traditional career fair plus a more informal setting where company representatives can socialize with interested candidates in a flexible online environment.

Donate today Company representatives will have the opportunity to virtually interact with students who are interested in pursuing careers in marketing analytics, sales, promotions, and other areas of marketing. The virtual platform will offer flexible settings for participating firms to host small group informational sessions as well as one-on-one sessions. Upon registration (link at the bottom of this page), we will share with you information on how to set up your sessions. 

Illinois State University has an outstanding undergraduate Marketing Program in which students can pursue a general Marketing degree or specialize in one of three sequences: Advanced Marketing Analytics, Integrated Marketing Communication or Professional Sales. We have over 800 students enrolled as Marketing majors.  Our students complete three required courses in marketing, and then additional required and elective courses in the sequences.

  • The Advanced Marketing Analytics sequence provides students with hands-on opportunities to learn data mining and predictive analytics techniques using tools such as SAS, SPSS, R, SQL, and Tableau to solve important marketing-related business problems.  Established in 2015, the sequence and business analytics minor has grown to an enrollment of over 140 students. Ours is one of the few undergraduate marketing analytics programs in the country.
  • Our Integrated Marketing Communication sequence allows students to focus on the coordination of all aspects of marketing communication such as advertising, social media, sales promotion, and digital marketing in an effort to provide a consistent message to consumers.  In addition to foundation and capstone IMC courses, the sequence includes courses on creative strategy and design layout using Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • The Professional Sales sequence is consistently listed as one of the top sales programs in the U.S.  The quality of the program is reflected in recent recognition of our ISU student sales team as Overall Champion and one of our students as Individual Champion at the 2019 National Collegiate Sales Competition, the longest running role-play sales competition in the U.S.
