For over a decade, the Katie School has conducted important industry programs.
The Insurance Executive Forum is held at the Union League Club in Chicago each fall and attracts over 150 industry leaders. A panel of senior insurance company executives and risk managers discusses industry market trends, organizational practices leading to profitability, and upcoming challenges facing the industry.
Each July the Katie School delivers a one-week program to emerging leaders from the Lloyd's of London insurance market. The program, held partly in Chicago and partly on campus, is taught by a combination of industry presenters and Illinois State University faculty.
The Insurance Financial Regulators Program at the Katie School of Insurance is an annual summer program for insurance financial examiners and analysts to gain fundamental knowledge of key functions, emerging issues, and to develop critical skills.
The Katie School Golf Classic event helps support scholarships and program enhancements, while providing insurance professionals the opportunity to meet over an engaging game of golf.
Each year through a grant provided by the Spencer Educational Foundation, the Katie School hosts one risk manager from the insurance industry to further educate students and discuss various topics with faculty and staff.
The annual Katie School/CPCU Symposium matches industry presenters, academic researchers, and ISU student research teams on specific topics that attracts an interactive audience across various professions and disciplines each year.
