Extreme Risk Takers Symposium - Chicago
Each spring the Katie School of Insurance and Gamma Iota Sigma host the annual Extreme Risk Takers Symposium in downtown Chicago. Over 150 RMI students from across the country and Canada attend the weekend event to gain knowledge of the surplus lines industry.
The event includes a career fair, networking opportunities with industry professionals, educational sessions with E&S presenters and evening social activities. The Symposium is sponsored by the WSIA Education Foundation.
Events of the Symposium
- Educational sessions with various presenters and topics within the surplus lines industry
- Evening dinner at a popular downtown restaurant
- Bowling social event for all the students
Objectives of the Symposium
- Introduce college undergraduates to the surplus lines industry
- Student interaction with other insurance students from different schools
- Create networking opportunities with industry executives and other students to build relationships for the future
