Extreme Risk Takers Symposium - Atlanta
The Extreme Risk Takers Symposium - Atlanta, sponsored by the WSIA Education Foundation, is hosted by Troy University and is focused on Excess and Surplus Lines. It allows students from universities around the country the opportunity to network with industry professionals as well as other students as they learn about the wholesale, specialty and surplus lines industry. The event generally attracts 175-200 students from more than 20 universities as well as 15-20 firms that participate in the career fair and networking reception.
The Katie School sponsors two students to attend the Symposium and covers the cost of registration, transportation, lodging, and meals.
Events of the Symposium
- Career Fair
- Networking reception, Dinner and WSIA Internship Presentation
- Educational sessions with various presenters and topics within the surplus lines industry
Objectives of the Symposium
- Introduces college undergraduates to the surplus lines industry
- Allows students to interact with other RMI students from different schools
- Offers networking opportunities with industry executives for possible jobs or internships in the future
